Fort Collins, CO. Living in a high-desert/mountain arid climate, wildfires during the summer are not unheard of, but this year, it's been different. Tinderbox conditions coming out of a drought persisting from the winter, compounded by unseasonably high temperatures and decades of forest urbanization, resulted in conflagrations along the Front Range of historic proportions. These weren't just fires... they were firestorms. Although praying for rain seemed the thing to do, in fact the lightning which came by way of sought after rainstorms risked sparking yet other fires.
We had the bittersweet experience of a repeat customer ordering On the Wheel glassware sets to replace the ones that were lost in their house that was destroyed by the fires. While all of us in the community helped however we could, including putting up evacuees in our homes, such experiences hit home even harder when impact pervades into business life, particularly from customers. Although we wish we had been able to reconnect with this customer under better circumstances, we do admire their resilience. We're flattered that, among all things to do, our glassware was among the first they thought to address. We hope the glasses will go a long way in providing them comfort and maybe even a little joy as they rebuild. Our business is truly a reflection of our passion and desire to do good things right, and beyond the sheer utility of our products and the convenience of our service, we hope these vibes reach everyone we touch.
